To: O.B. Members, Associates, Ladies and Friends:
Greetings: Hopefully warmer weather and our Parade Season will get here
soon.
At our last O.B. Social/Covered Dish, attended by over 40 members and
guests, we enjoyed a great meal (Italian) prepared by Louis and Wanda
Proctor and we were treated with great Beverage Service, thanks to the
Bartending skills of Steve Goetz. It was a fun filled night.
March will be a busy month for the O.B. as we prepare for our annual
Firefighter's Recognition Night at the Hospital, our Circus at the
Gardens, the downtown St Patrick's Day Parade, working the Temple Fish
Fry/Social night and attending the Potentates Ball. In sequential date
order, here are the March events and don't forget the starting time for
our Band Practices has been moved up from 7:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M
Wednesday March 3rd: 7:00 Band Practice. The Ladies (Band Aides/Sassy
Gals) will also meet at 7:00.
Friday March 5th, O.B. to Work the Fish Fry at the Temple 6:00 to 8:00
P.M . Our Unit will be working this event. Gentlemen please wear your
white O.B. logo shirt and black slacks and be there no later 5:30 P.M.
We need help with Bartending, Servers, Cleaning, etc. O.B.
Members/Ladies are asked to bring a Dessert please!
O.B. To Play at Firefighters Award Night Wednesday March 10th
The O.B. has been asked to play at the Hospital in conjunction with the
annual Firefighter awards night. Bandsmen need to be at the Temple at
5:45 to Caravan over to the Hospital and we need to be at the Hospital
with our instruments and ready to play at 6:15. The Dress for the
evening will be our Full Dress, including Shoes, with Fez (no Robe).
Following playing at the Hospital, we will return to the Temple for our
Business Meeting. Food follows.
March 13th (Saturday) St. Patrick's Day Parade, Downtown Cincinnati.
The O.B. will participate. We will assemble/park at the Temple on
Saturday morning, then ride the Trailer down to the starting point on
Eggleston. Time TBD. Dress could be old or new uniform, but regardless
of what you wear underneath, due to the anticipated cold weather, we're
asking that all wear their Robes and Fez. The Robes will help keep us
warm and they look good (from a distance)
Wednesday March 17th: 7:00 Band Practice.
March 19th - 21st Friday, Sat. and Sunday, Syrian Shrine Circus at
Cincinnati Gardens. The O.B. will play on Friday and Sat. evenings.
Dress will be Full Uniforms, with Fez, minus Cape. Bandsmen, please
assemble in the Garden's Lobby at 6:00 P.M., play at 6:15. Thanks to
our friend Ralph Sutton, the O.B. will have a hospitality/changing room
at the Gardens.
Wednesday March 24th: 7:00 Band Practice at the Temple. Note: Due to
the Circus and Potentate's Ball activities, there will be no Social
Night/Covered Dish in March.
Saturday March 27th Syrian Temples Potentates Ball at the Temple - -
Lodging at Holiday Inn
Come celebrate with "Jerry and Lois" and the Divan. The O.B. will have
some tables reserved. Please join us. Dress is Formal, Tux or dark suit
with tie. For complete details see the Shreik, and get your money to
Shirley or Becky at the Temple and if your going to spend the evening,
call the Holiday Inn Riverfront in Covington and tell them your with the
Syrian Shriners Potentate's Ball group. Shuttle Service will be
provided from the Holiday Inn to and from the Temple. Full details are
in the Shreik.

be reporting to our O.B. Family
