Dan Depenbrock, Director

To: O.B. Members, Associates, Ladies and Friends:

Dinner Night at Jim & Jack’s Wed. April 28th:  Don’t forget the Oriental Band will
be going to Jim & Jacks on River Road on Wednesday April 28th for Dinner. This
will be our April Social Night and instead of meeting at the Temple, for our
monthly Social/Covered Dish we will be going to Jim & Jack’s. This night
provides the opportunity for Bandsmen and our Ladies to enjoy a night out and
also to show our support and thanks to Ennie Jim for all his help with our Band.
Ennie’s setting up a Buffet with Meat Loaf, Chicken Breast and Salad Bar for only
$7.95.  Also Bandsmen bring your instruments, as we will provide some “Dinner
Music” for those in attendance.  Let’s have a nice turnout on Wednesday.

Jamboree: Guys, our annual GLSOBA Oriental Band Jamboree is fast
approaching. This year’s Jamboree will be held in Evansville, Indiana on June 4
– 7.   We will compete on Saturday, around Noon.  Dress for the Competition will
be Full Dress, with Vest, Diaper, Curled Shoes, no Robe. Saturday night will be
the Dinner where we (and other Temples) present our checks to the Ladder of
Smiles.   Please take/wear your Fez, and wear a Suit, Sport Coat, or Dinner Jacket
for the Dinner/Awards Banquet Sat. evening. There is detailed information about
the Jamboree and a Registration Form attached to this letter. Turn your
Registration into George Berry this week as the Band will be sending one check
to Hadi in early May.

Maifest/Oktoberfest Festivals: The O.B. membership formally voted at our April
Business Meeting to Sponsor/Work a Food Booth at these two Festivals which
are held in the Main Strasse Village in Covington Kentucky, The Maifest Festival
will be held on the weekend of May 14th –16th.  Steve Goetz has a “sign up” list
of times available to work this event. Please see if you can volunteer several
hours so that we don’t overload a few. This event could be a terrific Fundraiser
for the Band but it will require a large amount of workers to work the Booth,
cook, etc. We will be selling genuine Kentucky Country Ham Sandwich’s. Please
mark this on your Calendars and help support this fundraising event.

Health News: Happy to report good news that Bob Peacock, Howard Abraham,
and Rose Proctor are all home now after stays in the Hospital.

Rainey Parade: The O.B. took part in the Lakota Little League Baseball Parade
last Saturday April 24th.  Had a pretty good crowd out for this despite the
drizzling rain.
